The thyroid is a gland which is located below Adam’s apple in your neck. It releases hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) which are made up of Iodine. - Memory loss: Thyroid hormone regulates metabolism in every organ of the body, including the brain. When thyroid hormone is low, it can affect your memory span and ability to concentrate.
- Sensitivity to cold: As the metabolism of the body decreases it will be unable to produce enough heat to maintain the body temperature so the sensitivity to cold.

There are different causes for the over activity of thyroid like Grave’s an autoimmune disorder, in which it causes antibodies to stimulate the thyroid to secrete too much hormone. This disorder is most common in women, and it is basically genetic. Others factors like excessive iodine intake, the presence of tumors in the cells also cause for hyperthyroidism.
